WHAT WE BELIEVE

Rooted in Scripture.

Centered on Jesus.

If you've ever wondered what we teach and why — this page is for you. No small print. No surprises.

We are a Church of Christ congregation, which means we try our best to do what the earliest Christians did — worship simply, follow Jesus seriously, and let the Bible be the final word on every question of faith and practice.

"We speak where the Bible speaks, and we stay silent where it is silent."

That old saying shapes everything we do. We're not interested in adding to or subtracting from what God has already said. We're interested in following it — together, in love, for the city He placed us in.

OUR CORE BELIEFS

What we hold to, plainly said

Six convictions that shape our worship, our community, and our mission.

01

The Bible is God's Word

Scripture is inspired by God, true in what it affirms, and sufficient for teaching, correction, and training in righteousness. It is our final authority for faith and practice.

2 Timothy 3:16–17

02

One God in Three Persons

We worship one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — perfect in love, power, and holiness.

Matthew 28:19; Deuteronomy 6:4

03

Jesus Is Lord and Savior

Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He lived without sin, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and reigns today. Salvation is found in Him alone.

John 14:6; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4

04

Saved by Grace Through Faith

We are saved not by our works but by God's grace, received through faith in Jesus — a faith that repents, confesses Him as Lord, and is expressed in baptism and a transformed life.

Ephesians 2:8–10; Acts 2:38

05

The Church Is a Family

The church is the body of Christ — people of every background, united in worship, committed to one another, gathering weekly around the Lord's Supper, prayer, teaching, and song.

Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 12

06

Sent to Love Our City

We are called to love God and love our neighbor — which for us means serving the students, the unhoused, the incarcerated, and everyone in between, right here in downtown San Antonio.

Matthew 22:37–39; Matthew 28:19–20

IF YOU'RE NEW

You don't have to have it all figured out.

Questions are welcome here. Doubts are welcome here. Hard stories are welcome here. Come sit with us on a Sunday — we'll pick up the conversation from there.

A Bible-based, Christ-centered family church serving downtown San Antonio since 1989.
